- Machine description
Kao Fong Machinery Co., Ltd. (known as KAFO) was founded in 1968. It has made significant contributions to the development of Taiwan's industrial market, and the two have evolved together. The company manufactures all types of traditional, modern milling centers and multi-tasking machines. KAFO's product line includes vertical, horizontal, and gantry-type machines. With extensive knowledge and experience in precision machining and the latest technologies, the company's specialists produce high-quality machines for a wide range of customers.
The RV5A series is a 5-axis gantry machining center developed using world-class technology. It enables simultaneous machining of a workpiece in five axes—X, Y, Z, A, and C—with a single clamping unit. The vertical, horizontal, and free tilt angles of all axes significantly improve the efficiency of machining large parts, fully satisfying the needs of many industries. Depending on the machine's application needs, a choice of spindle configurations is available: a high-speed spindle with an HSK-A63 taper and 24,000 rpm, or a spindle for rigid threading with an HSK-A100 taper, 10,000 rpm, and high torque. Gantries with various lengths and travels are available to accommodate workpieces of varying weights and sizes. These machines are used for manufacturing all types of parts, including semiconductor cavity machining, mold making, aluminum parts, and the aerospace industry.
- The use of a Heidenhain linear scale and closed-loop control improves accuracy.
- The Z-axis with a dual ball screw design, the main spindle, and the ball screws of the remaining axes are designed with minimal overhang, increasing cutting rigidity.
- The X-axis is equipped with two servo drives, using a master/slave electromechanical control unit, capable of providing stable torque and improving dynamic rigidity and positioning accuracy, significantly contributing to the acceleration/deceleration of precision machining.
- Siemens 840DSL or Heidenhain 640 controllers are available, allowing for the efficient use of all the capabilities of 5-sided machining.
