Machining centers are multi-operation machines with CNC,Machines capable of complex machining of 3D workpieces using a variety of tools. Machining centers are equipped with tool magazines and automatic tool change systems, increasing productivity.
Machining centers are distinguished by the presence of a work table (pallet), and since rotating a part allows it to be machined from multiple sides without repositioning, this significantly increases productivity. Machining centers (or multi-operation machines) are sometimes equipped with additional tables (pallets) and automatic workpiece changers.
The precision of axis movements in machining centers is ensured by servo drives and a CNC control system. On average, one machining center can replace three to five CNC machines or five to ten universal machines..
In some cases, due to the structural and strength features of the parts, the specifics of their processing, as well as the need to remove coolant and chips from the cutting zone, it is more appropriate to use horizontal machining centers: for such tasks, a horizontal spindle arrangement is more convenient.
A horizontal machining center can be used for roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing workpieces with multiple machined surfaces, as well as various process steps: milling planes, shoulders, grooves, windows, and wells; drilling, countersinking, reaming, and boring various holes; boring holes with a tool with fine adjustment of size, etc.
